Seoul 2008 Drum Festival - Main Concerts

On Saturday, The Junkman played his main concert at the Seoul 2008 Drum Festival to a capacity audience of over 4,500 people. After he performed solo, he held a jam in which members of the audience participated with all types of junk, both on stage and off. The concert was a huge success, and the venue was fantastic (see pyrotechnic display at center/left of the photo. Yes, that is a giant plume of fire).  Again, we were very pleased at the warmth and enthusiasm of the Korean audience!

Last night was the final night of the festival, and the performances concluded with a massive jam in which every group joined together on stage to beat out some amazing percussion. After
around 5 minutes, the audience was invited to join the performers on stage and off, and the concert turned into a fantastic spectacle of dance and rhythm. Everyone gathered around the performers and danced, clapped their hands, and had a terrific time.

Tomorrow we leave for America, and tomorrow is all too soon. We could easily spend more time here!  WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE KOREA AND ITS PEOPLE!   Now we just have to hope that they invite us back again next year.
